Ross Hostetter
Ross has been described by his colleagues as a thought leader in the field of emerging spirituality. He is a director and co-founder of the Boulder Integral Center in Boulder, Colorado and, has dedicated his life to becoming a conduit for the descending energy of the divine into an evolving world. He is currently devoting his time to projects designed to bring about the next chapter in human evolution, and is in the completion stage of his first work of visionary fiction, Keepers of the Field, and the associated Field Book, a book of spiritual teaching. He and his partner Mary are in the design and launch phase of a new form of spirituality (The Field Work), for householders who want to up-level to become authors of their own lives, and who need to bring their physical structures, livelihood, and relationships into alignment with their interior values and the calling of their hearts.
Prior to moving to Boulder and becoming a flake (see above), Ross had a thirty year career in Dallas as a nationally recognized Attorney, mediator, consultant, and professional trainer. He conducted over 3,000 mediations; was co-founder and dean of an national training academy that trained over a thousand lawyers in the art of conflict resolution; and was a consultant for clients such as Chevron Corporation, the FDIC, Jones Day, and many others. S. congressman. He holds a law degree from George Washington University where he was Executive Editor of the Journal of International Law and Economics, and has a degree in psychology from University of Illinois.
Ross’s current interest in spirituality was awakened by a profound spiritual experience which arrived unbidden on a trip alone in the Canadian wilderness. Since that awakening in his early 20’s, Ross has explored—at depth—the complex spiritual landscape of America. He has been influenced by traditional and progressive Christianity, Zen, Sufism, New Age spirituality, Chi Gong, and varieties of meditation and state-change practices; culminating in his current interest in the Integral movement and evolutionary Spirituality. Ross was a co-founder of an intentional spiritual community where he and his partner Mary lived with their children for five years. He served on the staff of Ken Wilber’s Integral Institute in the capacity of General Counsel.
Ross is a lover of the outdoors, and as a young man was a professional wilderness and fishing guide in the Boundary Waters wilderness and further “up north” in Ontario and Manitoba. He’s an Eagle Scout. He and Mary have been together for 25 years, and are enjoying the best years of their lives right now. They are raising three children together.
